Our components of change

Our Focus on the Components of Change

Community Engagement, Mobilization, and Organizing:
- We conduct community assessments, surveys, and consultations to identify pressing needs, priorities, and issues within the community through participatory approaches.
- Build partnerships with local, national, and international stakeholders, leaders, and other organizations.
- Create platforms that creatively promote dialogue, community forums, town hall meetings, and online forums, using art and creativity, to facilitate dialogue, debate, collaboration, and collective decision-making through active participation.
Capacity Building:
- These capacity-building efforts aim to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively engage in the democratic process and advocate for change.
- Develop life skills, leadership abilities, and entrepreneurship capabilities.
- Offer mentorship and peer support networks

3. Advocacy and Policy Influence:

- Advocate for policies and programs that promote gender equality and youth development.
- Engage with policymakers, government agencies, and community leaders to influence change.
- Based on the identified needs and priorities, Amkeni CBO develops advocacy campaigns, initiatives, and strategies to address systemic issues, community organizing, lobbying, social media outreach, and awareness campaigns to mobilize support and influence decision-making.

4. Access to Resources and Opportunities:

- - Facilitate access to financial resources, microloans, and grants for business startups/scale-ups.
  - Provide information and referrals on Legal Aid/Support, health services, and reproductive rights.
  - Create pathways to employment, internships, Volunteering, Attachment, mentoring and leadership position
